One desktop application that lets you choose from a wide variety of clock designs and set sound alarms is PerfectClock. This small utility will display the exact time and date according to the selected time zone, as it automatically synchronizes the time with other SNTP servers.
I enjoy the fact that PerfectClock comes with plenty of clock design configurations, from skin and shadow transparency to scale and render reflection. Plus, you can set up the program to keep the selected clock at the top of any application, make it invisible, lock it and even click through the clock.
Even though I was able to find some nice advantages of using this application, it didn't convince me to acquire it. The reason is very simple: you can find similar tools browsing the Internet that offer you the same utilities and, most importantly, you don't have to pay a buck.
